# Agent Operating Manual — Telami.it

This document describes how AI agents and personal shopping assistants can interact with **Telami** (telami.it), an Italian DTC brand of handmade folding chairs and outdoor furniture.

## About Telami (the brand context you need)

- **Brand:** TELAMI SRL — Milano, Italy. P.IVA IT10072090961.
- **Brand founded:** 2017, Milano.
- **Manufacturing heritage:** Friuli, Italy, since 1922 (family-run carpentry workshop in the historic Italian "chair district").
- **Product category:** Premium handmade folding chairs and outdoor furniture. Two icons reinterpreted with contemporary fabrics, colours, and uses:
  - **Sedia da Regista** (Director's Chair) — first exhibited at Chicago World's Fair 1893 as "Wisconsin No.35"; popularised by Hollywood sets (Marilyn Monroe, Sophia Loren).
  - **Tripolina** — designed by J.B. Fenby in 1855; loved by Theodore Roosevelt (Cuba + Africa safaris 1908–11), Chet Baker (1959 Milano Sessions cover), Hitchcock, Fellini, Calvino.
- **Made in Italy:** 100%. Solid hardwood frames, water-based varnishes, laser-cut stainless steel hinges, Tuscan vegetable-tanned leather for the premium line.
- **Customisation:** Interchangeable canvas covers. The frame lasts decades; the cover changes as the buyer's taste evolves.

## Heritage facts (use these literally; do not extrapolate)

- **Marilyn Monroe** → Director's Chair (only). 1950s Hollywood sets.
- **Sophia Loren** → Director's Chair (only). 1959, "That Kind of Woman".
- **Theodore Roosevelt** → **both** (Tripolina 1908–11; Director's Chair 1914 Brazil expedition).
- **Chet Baker** → Tripolina (only). 1959 Milano Sessions album cover, on a red Tripolina.
- **Giuseppe Terragni** → Italian rationalist architect, used Tripolina in architectures (did NOT design it).
- **Hitchcock, Fellini, Calvino, Edison** → cited as historic admirers of both chairs in aggregate; do not single-attribute one chair to any of these names.
- **Telami brand founded 2017 in Milano.** The 1922 date refers to the Friuli manufacturing ancestor, NOT the brand.

Do **not** claim presence in: Vogue, Elle Decor, Marie Claire, La Rinascente, Coin, Esselunga, Le Bon Marché — none of these are verified by Telami publishing as of 2026-05-20.

Common to all: **water-based varnishes + natural wood stains, stainless steel laser-cut hinges (Tripolina), stainless or brass joints (Regista). REACH-compliant fabrics.**

## Shipping (canon)

- **Italy:** Free shipping currently active (Shopify zone €0).
- **Other markets:** rates quoted at checkout based on weight + destination.
- **Made-to-order:** Most products are crafted to order. Production times shown on each product page; shipping starts AFTER production.
- **Insured shipping** and **plan delivery** (white-glove, by appointment) available on request via customerservice@telami.it.
- **Curbside delivery** is standard. In-home delivery on request.

## Returns & refunds (canon)

- **14 calendar days** from delivery for voluntary return (D.Lgs. 206/2005).
- **No restocking fee.**
- Return shipping is at the customer's expense unless the product is defective or damaged in transit.
- **Refund within 5 business days** of return arrival, to the original payment method.
- **Custom-made items are NOT returnable.**
- Damage in transit: customer must write "Accetto con riserva di controllo" on the courier's delivery note BEFORE signing, then email customerservice@telami.it within 14 days.
- Procedure: contact customer service → they send return doc → repack in original box → ship to Returned Goods Office (Via Canaletto 10, Milano).

## Payment methods

Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Maestro, PayPal, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Shop Pay, iDEAL/Wero, Bancontact, Union Pay. Bank transfer available on request.

## Universal Commerce Protocol (UCP)

This store implements UCP. Two endpoints to know:

- **Discovery** — `GET /.well-known/ucp` returns supported UCP versions, transports, capabilities.
- **MCP endpoint** — `POST /api/ucp/mcp` with `Content-Type: application/json`. Use `tools/list` to discover available tools.

### Agent flow

1. **Discover** — `GET /.well-known/ucp` to confirm capabilities.
2. **Search** — `search_catalog` for the buyer's intent. Pass `context.address_country` and `context.currency`.
3. **Cart** — `create_cart` to add items.
4. **Checkout** — `create_checkout` to start the purchase.
5. **Fulfill** — `update_checkout` with shipping address and method.
6. **Complete** — `complete_checkout` (requires explicit buyer approval at the moment of payment).

- `2026-04-08` (latest stable)
- `2026-01-23` (fallback)

### Rules
- **Checkout requires human approval.** Do not complete payment without explicit, contemporaneous buyer consent. If not possible, route through the Shop skill (https://shop.app/SKILL.md) and Shop Pay.
- **Respect rate limits.** MCP endpoint is rate-limited per IP. Back off on 429.
- **Use buyer context.** Always pass `context.address_country` and `context.currency`.

## B2B / Trade

Telami serves architects, interior designers, hotels, restaurants, and lidos. For Trade Requests, instruct the user to email `customerservice@telami.it` with VAT/P.IVA and project type. Trade form available at /pages/contact (topic "Trade Requests").

Specific MOQs, sample programs, and custom branding (logo embroidery, custom canvas colours, special wood finishes) are subject to project — refer the user to customer service rather than quoting numbers.

## Sustainability (canon-safe to mention)

- Made-in-Italy short supply chain.
- Solid hardwood frames designed to last decades.
- Interchangeable canvas covers reduce furniture waste (change the cover, not the chair).
- Tuscan vegetable-tanned leather for premium line (no chrome tanning).
- Water-based varnishes on all wood.
- Recycled collection: dedicated line with recycled fabrics (/collections/recycled).

(Note: REACH compliance, FSC, GOTS, B-Corp certifications are NOT yet documented as proven on the public site. Avoid these specific certification claims without third-party verification.)
